In 2019 Wolverhampton Society of Artists celebrated its centenary with a large exhibition in Wolverhampton Art Gallery of the work of its members and our famous alumni. The exhibition was opened by Sathnam Sanghera, a celebrated, locally born writer and journalist. The exhibition was very well received. As part of our centenary the Society published two books: a history of the Society and a book illustrating the lives and work of its current members.

The plague years of 2020 and 2021 shut down most of the country but the Society grasped new technology and successfully continued its programme of talks, events and workshops via Zoom.

Our new 2021 Exhibition  which opens 16th October is entitled; “Out of Darkness into the Light” and marks the emergence from lockdowns to celebrate the work of our members.
