On one of the hottest days recorded in the UK and in glorious sunshine, President Keith Oram presented a Class of 2021 Graduate from the University of Wolverhampton School of Art with both a book and cash prize donated by the Wolverhampton Society of Artists.
The Textile, Surface Pattern and Design degree student, Morgan Pickford, 23 from Stafford, was presented with a cheque for £50 together with a hardback publication on the work of Yves Saint Laurent.
The Society has been encouraging greater collaboration and the building of connections with the University over some time. It provides a wonderful opportunity to reward young aspiring artists.
There were three prizes awarded in total which were due to be presented last year, However the presentations were delayed due to the covid pandemic so therefore we were very pleased that Morgan was able to attend on the day to receive her award in person and that we had the chance to meet her and her proud family.
