As part of our Centenary Celebrations we held our first and quite unique Art Party at The Folley on Sunday June 6th and I am pleased to say we are all agreed it was a resounding success. A day where members could gather to display and appreciate each other’s work in the most beautiful setting along with tea , coffee a glass of wine and a bowl of strawberries and cream – not forgetting the home made cakes. We even had a taste of the Cosford Air show thrown in.

So, a huge thank you goes out to Julia Timmins and her family for her most generous hospitality at The Folley; to Annette Hughes and her family for administrating the day perfectly and providing the delicious cakes along with Anne Hastings whose cakes were works of art in themselves; to Chris Manley for taking the photographs and creating a video of the event which will be shown at our Centenary Exhibition later in the year; and of course, thank you to our President Keith Oram for his enthusiasm in generating such an original idea with which to illustrate and record the work of the society. Thank you also to those who provided the Raffle prizes.

Such rewarding experiences hold our society together in the most creative way as do our dedicated and supportive committee members who work so hard on our behalf. Thank you all again for a wonderful day.
